Approval. The consent of a responsible person to an exception, a proposal, or an agent action.

Brain. The knowledge of a room. Brains from the catalogue can be subscribed to.

Convention. A recommendation that reaches answers as context and blocks nothing.

Data class. A room’s protection level, from C0 to C3. It decides which models may process the content.

Decision. A recorded determination with an owner and a status, such as an architecture or business decision. Approved decisions are cited in answers.

Dreaming. A background run that finds contradictions, outdated entries, and gaps, and turns them into proposals. A person decides on them.

Evidence record. The signed record of an answer, action, or change. It holds sources, rules, checks, model, and approvals, and is chained to the previous record of the room.

Exception. A time-limited, approved deviation from a guardrail. Hard rules allow no exceptions.

Gateway. The control point for model and tool calls.

Guardrail. A rule that blocks and offers a path to a time-limited exception.

Hard rule. A rule that blocks and allows no exception.

Impact graph. The links between sources, rules, decisions, and their effects.

Inbox. A person’s list of open requests, approvals, and proposals.

MCP. Model Context Protocol, the open standard through which agents connect to NomOS.

Room. The unit in which NomOS manages knowledge, rules, and decisions, with an owner, a data class, and members.
