Global search
The search field sits in the top bar on every screen: in the workspace bar of the chat and the library, and in the header everywhere else. It finds decisions, knowledge, rooms, and memories across all your workspaces, with authority badges and origin info for each hit.
What is searched?
Section titled “What is searched?”Three things: (1) entries from every memory accessible to you, meaning your rooms’ own and inherited memory, plus subscribed and public expertise from the Brain Store. (2) Decisions and rules of your rooms (title, key, and text; for rules also those inherited from parent rooms). (3) Rooms, memories, and expertise by name. Brain search limits those hits to the active room context.
Search combines semantic similarity (over the existing knowledge chunks) with title matches. If semantic search is temporarily unavailable, the panel says so honestly and shows title matches only. Direct hits come first in a group of their own: an exact key such as “SEC-01” or an exact title, ahead of every entry that merely mentions the term. A title that only starts with your term is listed in its type group, ahead of the mentions there. Each hit states its type (rule, decision, document, knowledge entry), its room and its status.
Only what you may see
Section titled “Only what you may see”Search does not extend your permissions. It only searches what you could open anyway. Content of other rooms that you are not a member of does not appear in your results, not even as a title or snippet. The exception is expertise published publicly in the Brain Store: it appears in the global search, but not in the search within a room. Under the hits, one line states how many of your rooms the search covered.
The same visibility physics as chat retrieval applies: room memberships, inheritance, subscriptions (including the C1 guard for shared expertise) and public expertise in the catalog.
Badges and origin

Accepted decision. It applies and is presented to answers and agents as authoritative.
Draft
Not yet decided. Drafts appear dimmed so that binding and preliminary content cannot be confused.
Origin chip
Shows the hit’s room, memory or expertise. “Catalog” means: public expertise, reachable via the expertise catalog.
Type at least two characters. Clicking a hit opens the matching place. Decisions open the knowledge library with the record preselected. If a knowledge or memory hit is itself a library record, such as a decision recorded in a memory or an imported document, it opens the library with that record preselected. Any other knowledge or memory hit opens memory management of the reachable room or the catalog. Room hits open the workspace. Search results open the record once its target room has loaded. If the record is unavailable there, a notice appears; select an available entry in the knowledge tree.
Keyboard: “/” or Cmd/Ctrl+K focuses the search box, Escape closes the panel.
